Keelung, officially known as Keelung City, is a major port city in northeastern Taiwan. It borders New Taipei, and together with Taipei they form the Taipei–Keelung metropolitan area. Keelung has a humid subtropical climate and is known as one of the wettest and gloomiest cities in the world, a condition influenced by the Kuroshio Current.
